We Plant Trees
Trees are important to our environment. Trees help clean the air we breathe, clean the water we drink, provide habitat to over 80% + of the World's biodiversity, provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people on this planet, provide health in so many ways (1/4 medicines we take come from trees & plants) and trees absorb carbon from our atmosphere. - One Tree Planted Tree Planting
Aren't they the ones who plant trees?
Yes and no. Because we do not actually plant the trees ourselves but finance their planting, which our partners One Tree Planted and One-Tree-One-Life / BOS Switzerland - two renowned environmental and non-profit organizations from the USA and Switzerland do for us takes over. This means that we actually serve as a transmitter because you actually finance the tree - with every purchase of one of our products. It is important to know that we are not a non-profit organization, but a lifestyle brand that voluntarily reinvests part of the proceeds in tree planting projects in order to give something back to our beloved nature and to counteract climate change.
But how exactly does this tree sponsorship work? Are trees really being planted there, and where? Which trees are planted and who is planting them? Written my name on my tree and can I visit it in 10 years?
Have trees planted worldwide
The principle is basically very simple. For every item order placed on our website, we give $ 1 to our partner organization One Tree Planted at the end of the month. "OTP" is a globally active, non-profit, climate-protecting organization from the USA that is not geared towards its own profit. We maintain a good relationship with its founder Matt Hill, who also regularly lends a hand in tree-planting campaigns. This non-profit organization carries out professional plantings of regional tree species at over ten locations worldwide several times a year. The trees are planted by many volunteers and committed helpers from the local community and by OTP itself. The trees are planted where they were previously for various reasons such as agriculture, the timber industry, habitat, or natural events (forest fire, drought, etc.) have disappeared. In addition, a tree is currently being planted in Indonesia for every "Treeanie Coal". These reforestation activities take place as part of the One Tree One Life campaign by BOS Switzerland. This non-profit organization based in Zurich is committed to protecting orangutans and rainforests in Indonesia. Volunteers from Switzerland supported BOS Switzerland with reforestation and fundraising. You travel to Borneo yourself to plant some of your trees yourself. Burned and destroyed rainforest and peat bog areas in East and Central Kalimantan are being reforested. Anyone who wants to lend a hand is very welcome!
